After having a great experience on technical trails with the Saucony Peregrine 2, and a not so great experience with the Brooks Cascadia 7 (toe box was too tight in the Cascadias which lead to a minor stress fracture), I knew I wanted something in between these two shoes to wear as an everyday trainer. I'm an avid trail runner and am 2 weeks away from running a trail 50K. During training I have logged 50+ miles/week on trails consisting of mid-high elevation change, rock, root, mud, etc. The Peregrine is a great shoe, but has more of a "minimal" feel to it. The Brooks Cascadia was excellent (very versatile & supportive), other than the toe box being too snug for me personally. I'm a bigger guy (6'3 185). I went on the hunt for a "more supportive" shoe to wear as an everyday trainer that had the fit & grittiness of the Peregrine, with the support of the Cascadia to save my legs on longer runs. Enter the Saucony ProGrid Xodus 3.0. Killer shoe! Put my custom inserts in them & hit a 20 miler straight out of the box. With a 4mm heel-toe drop & a gritty sole, they provide you with the support you need while still allowing you to feel the trail, and adjust to it depending on the terrain. A great shoe for any/all neutral runners. My only wish would be for them to have a little less bulk. Weighing in at just under 12oz., this shoe can begin to feel a bit clunky on a 20+ mile run...but it will absolutely help to save your legs! That being said, I highly recommend this shoe, and will continue to wear mine until they have holes in them. 4 out of 5 strictly because of the 12oz. weight. Cheers

They are slightly heavier then your average runner, but between the grip and shoe structure, it's more then made up for. Great fit, found them true to size and good for someone with a wider foot. Plus the red/white/black look even better than the pictures, highly recommended.

The product arrived rapidly, fit well and is stylish. The shoes are well made, lightweight and sturdy. After a brief break in period, I took them on an 11 mile run up rugged terrain in the small mountain ranges of Marin County. They performed very well. I'd recommend them to anyone.
