First off I'm a total fan of Ecco and and even more so of their Biom line. They are super comfortable and need no real break in period. I'm writing this review because the description is misleading. A Gore Tex lining is listed. NOWHERE did I see the GoreTex trademark and the shoe is very porous. Just to make sure, I dropped small amounts of water on the top and sure enough it soaked right through. These are not rain proof shoes. I'm not sending mine back because the tread is perfect for trail or irregular surfaces. It's also a Biom at a really good price. What's great about all Eccos is that once you know your size, you can buy any of their shoes and be assured the fit will be the same. This is my 5th pair of Bioms of which only one pair is really shot after a year and a half of almost daily hard wear.

These runner shoes are quite lightweight and comfortable.BUT they do NOT have a GORE TEX membrane. Please be sure that only a GORE TEX sign guarantees that membrane is in its place. There's no GORE TEX sign on these shoes, and they are NOT waterproof. They leak in rain and that's it.

Pay attention to the differences on these - Quest Trail has different models very similar in looks - this one vs Gore Tex one vs other. Fit and comfort are outstanding.
