The Mizuno Wave Ekiden racing flat features a lightweight, responsive construction that offers the ultimate ride. Lightweight mesh upper with thicker material and additional overlays adds durability while remaining soft and breathable. Mizuno Wave plate is made of a lightweight resin to provide cushioning without a significant weight penalty. Sticky rubber outsole gives the grip necessary for fast road racing. Wt. 4.6 oz.

Great minimalist running shoe with adequate cushioning - NOT a child size!

Although the shoe is extremely light, it provides enough impact reduction. I haven't yet worn it outdoors to test how long they last through wear and tear on pavement. The reason why I gave a 4 star is that they are a little loose in the toe box, but I am a woman and it might feel different on a guy's foot. If you are looking for an extremely lightweight yet someone impact reducing shoe, this is a good one to try.
