A middle child to neutral and support, the Ravenna 4 is leading the charge for in-between feet. The Brooks Ravenna 4 is easily the best running shoe I've ever owned. I bought it based on the positive review from Runner's World magazine. The heel is soft, which I need to avoid injuries while running 36 miles a week. The arch and stability are good enough that I don't need to wear an insert to help with my flat feet. Excellent for 10-mile plus training runs. The shoe so light that I run more effortlessly with them. Recently wore them while averaging sub-8 per mile in a half marathon.

I have worn Ravenna 3 shoes for the past two years. I was bummed to find out that Brooks was discontinuing that line. The local running store recommended that I try the Ravenna 4's. I have been wearing these for the past 4 months now and absolutely love them. The key difference between the 4 and the 3 is that the 4 has more cushioning under the heel, and it is a more compact fit around the middle of the foot.I have a very slight heel strike, but not so bad that it causes problems. That said, it always helps to have slightly more cushioning under the heel without going overboard with shoe thickness. These shoes provide just the right balance. I love the new colors in green and blue, I was bored with the standard three colors of the Ravenna 3's - new colors are a welcome change. I am already on my third pair in a short period of time training for the NYC marathon. Looking forward to running in them on Nov 3rd!
