I've kissed a lot of frogs in the sneaker department. I have multiple issues. One, I have a tiny bone on the joint of my right pinky toe that gets irritated very easily, in 99% of the shoes I've ever tried on (this bone has irritated me my entire life), so I need enough box to accommodate this ONE toe. I don't need a wide sneak, just enough room at the end and I find men's sneaks offer this. Stretchy material and a big toe box is a total win for the toe issue but in winter that stretchy stuff can get soggy and isn't very warm. Also, I have a long arch and have had Plantar Fascitis. The Plantar Fascitis caused heel spurs and tender Achilles Tendons at one point, so at the moment I cant have a sneak that pulls too much on my achilles tendon. I went from being a hiker to being on crutches and incapable of walking down the street. In its extreme, this condition lasted for well over a year. My approach was to buy a kazillion pairs of shoes, each to accommodate whichever malady was screaming loudest, some in women's and some in men's.Anyway, I stumbled upon this sneaker. Thought I was in the women's section at the back of a Nike outlet and grabbed a Men's 8.5 (I wear an 8-8.5 in women's), put it on and was like.... AAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Very long arch, so my foot felt supported. They did feel quite long but I was able to walk comfortably in them. I bought this first pair in 8.5 for 41$, a steal. After wearing them for a few days I realized I ought to go back and try to get perhaps a men's 8 (to keep from stubbing the extra room at the front on the ground if I didn't pick my feet up enough - these sneaks run about 1/2 size small, btw). They didn't have them so I ordered them here and voila, a perfect sneak. Good toe box, long arch support, no tugging at the heel, but they stay on comfortably. I'm so accustomed to being uncomfortable that with these on I feel like Dash from the Incredibles. Matching shoes w/foot issues is like putting a 3 dimensional puzzle together. Ah, the joys of comfort.
