I ran a 50 mile ultra in technically difficult terrain (7k gain). The first half in my Innov8 Terrafly 303 feet felt great but seam of shoe tore laterally at the sole junction. Ran the second half in the TrailRoc without trouble. These are both great shoes comfortable for long distances. The former is best for light trails (less rugged tred) and the TrailRoc best for more difficult terrain. They have a slightly more aggressive tred but have better reinforcement where the Terraflys do not. My feet blister easy and callouses I thought were needed for protection prior to my experiences with Innov8. I've not had a single blister since and painful callouses have regressed. I use a slightly expensive sole insert from the Walking Company to provide a little extra cushion. Shoes allow for foot swelling that occurs on long runs. Very supple with no break in needed. Provide excellent sensory feedback. They are as minimaliistic as I can get and strengthen feet without beating them up. No experience on road with these shoes. The TrailRocs are my perfect trail shoe. This is after much trial and error with expensive Salomans, Brooks, and Altras.

The way this shoe fit and felt I was blown away considering it falls within the 2-arrow portion of Invo-8's system, it was snug yet I had plenty of room in the toe box, very comfortable ride. Here is the negative part though, don't get these bad boys wet under any circumstances, the lugs on the bottom don't have invo-8's trusty grip like lugs, these are smaller and have no grip, you will slid all over and risk getting injured if you do, if it wasn't for that these for me would have been a keeper.

Rock plate protects my foot without being too heavy. I usually wear 4 mm drop shoes but find less stress on my lower legs with the 6 mm drop on these shoes. My first long run in this shoe was a 50k and they felt great on my feet after I was done. I didn't even take them off right away.I went 1/2 size up on these which was recommended on the Inov-8 website, however, they probably would fit better at the size I normally wear. I like them a bit big for the long runs where my feet swell anyway.
