So if you are looking at or thinking about the minimalist shoe movement lately, these are a good transition from a beefer heavier shoe (like Salomon Men's XA PRO 3D Ultra 2 Trail Running Shoe) to the super light weight (like Bikila LS Shoe - Men's by Vibram Fivefingers or MT10GY New Balance MT10 Men's Minimus Trail Running Shoe). I tried the La Sportiva Men's Crosslite, and I loved them, but anything over a 50K and they were a bit light weight. These 2.0 shoes are NOT a zero drop, and have more cushion. Plus the lace cover is great. These are also a bit wider than the Crosslite 1.0. The bottom tread is good and grippy except in one case: wet rocks. I would rate these shoes a 5 instead of 4, except for that fact. Good for rocks? yes! Good for technical? Yes! Good for hiking with a pack? YES! Good for dirt or mud? YES! Just don't wear them on wet rocks, and you can't go wrong with these shoes.I am ordering my second pair The first pair have done great, have four 50 mile races on them, have two small rips around the toe where the rubber meets the fabric. The shoe has two layers however, and are still quite usable. The rips are due to the technical nature if the trails I ran, not any fault of the shoes.Bottom line: Great shoes for trail running.

These kicks made a real difference navigating Tough Mudder obstacles and never let me down. Running up the mud slopes when most were slithering up and then being able to step half way back down to help team mates and other Mudders up, running up the Everest half pipe with treads full of mud yet still reaching the top on the first attempt, completing the muddy log jumping and twinkle toes balance beam without falling, swimming with these shoes and running, jogging, walking and crawling 12 miles over mud, asphalt, gravel, packed dirt proved to me these shoes were worth it. When you need all terrain road, mud and off road traction in a Jeep, you buy good AT tires. These are AT shoes. It took a bit to get the mud out and expect to replace the insoles but you won't regret buying these.

Awesome Mudder shoe! Great tread and comfort with lace sleeve that works! I'd recommend this shoe to any light trail/mudders out there.
