Great Shoes

I bought these to run a Tough Mudder in and I am glad I did. They were very grippy on the slopes & rocks, no shoe laces to worry about getting caught or coming untied and they cleaned up very well. Very comfortable too, I had no blisters or sore feet despite a 10 mile course and little break in time . The tongue and heel have a plasticy feel that takes getting used to but they are not uncomfortable once they are on. The "lace toggle" that tightens the laces is a bit sticky and hard to deal with until I added some cooking oil to the catch to loosen it up. Pricey, yes, but worth it.

Still breaking them in, only put about 60 hiking miles on them. Good traction, hold well to feet.This shoe is narrow and hard to put on. AlsoNot a big fan of the laces. 4 stars is a little generous, truth is if I had it to do over again this would not be my choice. At $150 they are way over priced!!! Damn I need some new hiking shoes...

There has not been a shoe that I have ever had that could compete with this type of shoe. I recommend if they still have them in stock for you to buy a pair because these are the lightest and most durable shoe ever. The picture does not serve any justice because the shoe itself looks 1000 times better in real life than it does in the picture. Oh and it's comfortable very!

AWESOME SHOESI cant begin to say how awesome these shoes are, comfort wise. I got the orange ones because I though hey why not have some flashy shoes right? I just personally didn't like the color of the shoes. If you like the color then its its a 5/5.

A phenomenal shoe

I recently bought a pair of Ghost 4s to replace my old Ghost 3s I had been running in. After 2 or 3 runs, I am very impressed. The cushioning system has been upgraded with what Brooks calls "DNA." They describe this new cushioning as a non-Newtonian liquid, which can change density and impact absorption based upon the amount of force applied. This might just be a marketing gimmick, but but either way, it's the best sole I've felt thus far. I get a nice cushioned feel without added bulk or sacrificed responsiveness. Another great improvement is that Brooks lengthened the tongue of the shoe. I had a problem with the tongue of the Ghost 3s slipping below the lace line. Not a problem anymore. They also incorporated a "tongue tie" to keep the tongue securely in place.One difference from the Ghost 3s is that the 4s feel a little more rigid when I first tried them on. This might just be because I'm comparing fresh 4s to well worn 3s, but the difference still seems significant. Overall, they are the most comfortable running shoe I've ever worn.

So far I used to run in much heavier shoes; this pair feels very lightweight but still has great cushioning. I am not a light guy and I do all my running on asphalt or concrete, but these shoes appear to reduce the impact a fair bit. I even feel faster:-)

Best running shoe I've worn

I've been running on and off for the past 9 or so years, primarily as cross-training for rowing. I've struggled with a tendency to heel-strike which after about 6 years started giving me bad runners' knee, especially in my right knee. Up until that point I wasn't paying too much attention to the shoes I was wearing. I went to a running-specific store for the first time and got a pair of Asics. They were pretty good, but my issues continued. After going through a few pairs of Asics, I went to a different running store that, after watching me walk and run on a treadmill, recommended I go with the Brooks Ghost 3's. Those shoes changed my life. Running wasn't painful anymore. I was no longer limited by the soreness in my knees, but only by the extents of my physical fitness, something I'd never felt before while running. My next trip back they set me up with some Ghost 4's and I'm pleased to report that they are even better. They're pretty lightweight for a training shoe, very comfortable and breathable, and the cushioning is phenomenal. I've trained myself to run on the balls of my feet more now, but when my heel occasionally strikes I don't immediately feel it in my knee. Everything about this shoe is great. Colors look pretty cool, the tongue doesn't slip, laces hold up well, and the toe box has ample room but because the mid-section of the foot is secured I don't find myself sliding around. Highly recommended.

Love Asics

I've purchased many Asics before. I have 2160's for treadmill use - perfect. The Fluent 4 is extremely comfortable and stylish. Threw them on and went for a 10 mile run on and off the road - no blisters at all. Well cushioned, yet light weight.

Not enough cushioning

I have faithfully purchased ASICS products for 10 years but I am very disappointed in these shoes. I've never had trouble with my ankles, knees, or hips while running, but after just two runs in the GEL-Fluent I was sore throughout my joints. I run about 15 miles per week and do 2-3 half marathons per year, and have never had problems until I started wearing these. These are fine if you merely intend to walk in them.

Product Description

The Nike Zoom Vomero+ 8 running shoe provides premium cushioning to give neutral runners the most comfortable experience. Flywire technology improves midfoot support and fit, reducing slippage while keeping the shoe lightweight. The upper keeps the shoe breathable with a sandwhich mesh and minimal support overlays. A full-length cushion foam makes up the midsole and combines with Nike Zoom units in both heel and forefoot, leaving the runner with a high-response feel. Transitions will also be improved with the articulated crash pads. The outsole is made up of environmentally preferred rubber with a BRS 1000 carbon rubber heel and a forefoot of Duralon, giving runners the durability and support needed for each and every run. Wt. 11.6 oz.

My only regret is that I didn't purchase these shoes at the beginning of the year, though I don't know when this particular model was introduced. These shoes are the real thing. They are light, feel great on the feet, and are the perfect shoe for working out in the gym. I use them mainly for biking and I didn't realize how ill-suited my tennis shoes were for this until I put these on. One cautionary note: I tried a pair on at a local sports shoe shop and found that I needed a half size larger than I normally would get. Thus, be sure you try them on before ordering online.

Great shoe

It's always been difficult for me to spend this much on shoes. However, we are going on vacation and will be doing a lot of walking and I wanted a shoe that actually fit my foot. The salesman at the store did a fitting and suggested this shoe. It was cheaper on Amazon so I ordered it. It fits great and has helped my leg fatigue and knee pain. I highly recommend this shoe, after you have been fitted and try it out at the store first.

I needed a shoe with a wide toe box. Unfortunately New Balance has discontinued the 1012. Tried several others before I found this one. It is not as comfortable as the 1012 was, but I can wear these. I appreciate that New Balance carries the wider shoes, but it is getting harder and harder to find ones that work. Wish they would stop taking away models that were so good.
