Great fit and feel

I have had Asics the last two pairs of running shoes, and after reading a review in a running magazine, I decided to buy this pair. I run a few miles 2-3 times a week, and I am in my early fifties. The fit was great and even on the first trial run, I was very happy with the feel of the shoe. They are aesthetically pleasing too. I will probably stick with this brand for the next pair I buy.

Exceeds Expectations - Highly Recommended

For the last few months I've been switching off between the Asics Gel Frantic 5 and the Asics Tornado 2, and while both are solid choices for my cross-training that includes occasional treadmill running the Tornado 2 offers a superior combination of a solid and wide heel foundation and soft cushioning when it comes to running. My running is limited by old achilles tears that give me tendinitis and calf strains if I over-do it, but I have no problems strapping my Tornado 2's on and putting in a couple of miles at the gym pain and injury free. Plus they feel great for all other types of indoors cross-training, although the uppers are perhaps too flexible for long outdoor runs on uneven pavement or turf if you are more than about 170 lbs.Up until now, I've only used shoes for severe over-pronators, and even used the Cho-Pat Achilles Strap and anti-pronation orthotics to prevent achilles tendinitis and strains. But the Tornado 2 has me re-thinking that strategy. My hunch is that the wide heel and solid lasts on this shoe would hold up well for outdoors runs in the 3-5 mile range; for longer runs the uppers seem to lack the kind of stabilization you'd get from an anti-pronation shoe. Even if these don't turn out to be the best running shoe for you, they do look great and are superbly comfortable so at the very least you've got a great shoe for walking and day to day recreation.

Excellent comfort and support

I start my day with a 4 mile run every day. These Asics are very light, extremely comfortable yet provide super support. I wish I could wear them to work but they wouldn't look right with a suit. LOVE THESE RUNNING SHOES!

I bought these as "dress shoes" to wear with slim khaki pants and they work great for that purpose, believe it or not!

Don't laugh - I bought these as "dress shoes" to wear with slim khaki pants. They work great for that purpose, believe it or not! The exterior isn't flashy like many of the other FiveFingers designs. I own a pair of Bikilas that I use for exercising but they are too flashy to pass for "dress shoes." I didn't want the typical dress shoes to push my toes together, so I sought out a pair of subdued FiveFingers.Compared to my Bikilas, which I purchased in 2011 in size 44, these FiveFingers Speeds are slightly smaller.

The Perfect Trail shoe

I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL RUNNER. I am someone who needed to get back in shape after winter and I bought these shoes to make this goal easier. I have been very pleasantly surprised at how these shoes have performed.These shoes are amazing. The lightweight mesh design offers exceptional breathability and also dries wicked fast. It's been a really sloppy spring here from the quick snow melt, and these shoes are perfect for getting wet and muddy and then drying quickly. IF YOU HAVE WIDE FEET these shoes are a no-brainer to buy. I bought a size 12 4E wide shoe and my feet have never been more comfortable. I live at a camp in Northern MN and they've made it a blast to run through the woods; I am enjoying running in a whole different way than I have in the past. Sticks, rocks, logs--who cares? With the durably built sole obstacles that would give me trouble in normal shoes are a piece of cake.Right now I'm debating on whether to buy another pair right to plan ahead for when these get worn down--that should give you an idea of how much I love these shoes.

Is it all that good?

The MT915 is a good trail shoe, however I found it to be poor on the down hills. The heal is rather narrow which does not provide great stability of the ankle. The light weight material also allows the ankle to move from side to side. The last problem I had was that I could not keep the shoe tight enough to keep my feet from slipping forward, which resulted in jammed toes. Where this shoe preformed well was on the flat areas. It feels light and does a great job protecting your feet from the rocks. You could wear this shoe for a road marathon, if cushioning is not a concern. Is there a better shoe? Yes, the MT904 which they stopped making. The MT904 worked as well or better in all conditions noted above. I have used the MT904 for both ultra races and marathon races.

Not well-designed

This is a VERY low cut shoe with a very substantial and fairly inflexible heel and sole. My heel felt like it was constantly about to slip out of the shoe and I could only comfortably wear them if I took out the insole. The tongue is paper thin and if I laced them up securely enough that they didn't slip, the laces cut into the front of my ankles. It's also pretty poorly shaped. Whereas most decent running shoes will generally have an anatomically correct "D" shaped profile (tapering to the big toe), this shoe has an "A" shape (tapering to the center of the foot), which was forcing my toes together.I should have tried these on in a store first, learned my lesson.

Best Ever for BIG GUYS

This is my first pair of Saucony's and they are the best shoes out there. I have been an Asics wearer for the last 8 years but recently started getting foot cramps wearing my 2150s. I have one flat foot and I am a slight pronater and I'm over 250 pounds. I walk for excercise every day. After getting these bad boys I went from walking a couple miles a day to 3 or 4 miles and no foot cramping whatsever.Highlights of this shoe are big toe box, great stability, and the built in sock liner adds extra comfort. Absolutely no break in period. Just put this puppies on and you are good to go.

Better For Me Than Current Model

Have been wearing Saucony Omnis for 15 years on the recommendation of my podiatrist for moderate pronation. Unfortunately the new Omni 11s no longer have the inside support for this. Was glad to find the older model still available.

Hurricane vs. Omni?

If you're like me, you've at least narrowed down your favorite running shoe brand to Saucony because of the great shoes they produce and their dedication to all types of runners. I have ran in the Hurricanes for YEARS and years, and one day bought a pair of Omni's because they were on a great clearance on amazon - why not? As it turns out - I like the Omni's MORE than the hurricanes - they seem to work with my foot more (weak ankles, flat feet). I highly suggest giving them a shot if you're a hurricane shoe wearer looking for a change up, or even if you're just looking for a GREAT stability shoe from a GREAT brand (note- hurricane is a great stability shoe, too!)Good luck and happy walking/running/playing :)

The mesh top is very breathable.Although these shoes are really stylish and look "cool" I would not recommend running in them. In my opinion, I feel like they arepretty big and too heavy for running.
