I really wanted to like these, but...

I have small feet. Small and wide feet, more precisely. My feet are about a EUR size 37, which translates to about 4 or 4.5 in most US shoemakers. After looking for and wide for some shoes that would fit me (I'll always have that problem), I found these, and after reading some great reviews on blogs online, I decided to take the plunge, and ordered the size 4.5.They look very well made, and are pretty lightweight. I REALLY like the way they look and feel. BUT, they were too small, and too narrow. I'd suspect a full size larger would fit better, but I'd still need them in a 2E. My feet aren't THAT wide, I can fit in most normal width shoes in my size. But these were way too narrow. If I could just find these in the right size, and couple them with green SuperFeet insoles, they'd easily earn a 5 star rating.

An ultralightweight, everyday running shoe, the Patagoina Tsali 2.0 Men isn't slowed down by sand, scree or anything in-between. Weighing in at under 20-ounces per pair, this trail shoe features a gender-specific, anatomical footframe and a reinforced Dynamic Lacing System for a secure, precise fit on uneven terrain. For added durability and protection, the breathable air-mesh upper has perforated nylon reinforcements and the toe bumper has direct-applied rubber. The anatomical and perforated 20%-recycled EVA footbed molds to the contour of your foot. A forefoot shock-absorption pad and flex grooves offer extra protection and flex. The Patagoina Tsali 2.0 Men has a multi-density sticky rubber outsole provides 360-degree wet/dry traction in varying conditions.

My first hike in these was 13 miles.... 'and my feet felt good

This is my first purchase of a Patagonia shoe, and I must say that I am impressed. I do 12-15 mile hikes at least four times a week on a mix of suburban streets and park trails, and I did my first hike in these shoes the day after they arrived. I did 13 miles the first day, and my feet felt good afterwards, with no undue soreness or blistering. The shoes are lightweight and comfortable on my feet, and the soles provide very good traction in a mix of paved and unpaved surfaces, both wet and dry.

These are great shoes, very comfortable and light. I read somewhere that they were good for high arch feet, but the arch support is not as much as I was hoping. Still though the shoes are great.

Perfect running shoe

This is the best and most comfartable running shoe i have ever used.it fits perfectly and more importand, the big toe section stays intact!! With all other running shoes in the front where the big toe is placed the shoe is not strong enough. But with this shoe it stays intact!!!

heavy but awesome pair of running shoes!

This year I decided to run with some friends so I bought some running shoes (the ultralight F50's). at first I loved them but then I realized that i needed a stability shoe (because the Ilitobial band started to hurt) so a friend of mine recomended the kayanos (kayano 17) I have tried them and I love'em. so after I bought the 17's I started to look on amazon. I found the kayano's 15 they are almost as comfy as the 17 but they are selling cheaper (almost the half of a new 17) actually I really like more the style of the 15.... by the way they're heavy as a brick but after you found the confort of this sneakers you wouldn't mind of the weight.

Great sole, but they messed my feet up.

I was really looking foward to getting these shoes.First, a little background. I am in the Army and I run a minimum of 2 miles a day in my free time. I've ran half marathons and have ran 20 miles plus. I've been looking for a shoe that can handle the ruff terrain in Afghanistan and also not cause back pain.These shoes have great sole protection from ruff terrain and graveled area. But the shoes cause the area on the sole of both feet to get blisters on the inside. They also rub very uncomfortably on the rim of where the foot enters. after 1/2 mile my feet were bleeding and now I have trouble walking in normal shoes and boots.I will not give up on the shoes though. I will continue to break the shoes in and write a second reveiw in a few months after I redeploy. I'm not too sure if these need a break in period like other shoes or not. That said, I've never had shoes or boots make my feet bleed like these did.To sum everything up. Great soles that offer wonderful protection. Places on your foot will be rubbed raw. I will not give up so easily though.

Good shoes but hard to slip on

I started out wearing vibram five fingers several years ago but my second and third toe on my right foot are webbed to the first knuckle so I had to modify the five fingers to get them to fit. I didn't want to keep doing this so as soon as these shoes became available I bought them. I wear them to work and out hiking and they feel comparable to the five fingers but I actually like them better because they just have a wide toe box instead of the individual toes which I think helps your toes flare more naturally. My only complaint is that they are hard to just slip on (at least in size 11) because the shoe lace is a bit to short to allow you to open up the mouth of the shoe wide enough. I also bought the trail gloves for gym use and they are much easier to slip on.Merrell should also think about switching the names of the trail glove and the true glove. The true glove makes a much better trail shoe because it is has a tougher upper.Be warned though that while this looks like a normal shoe it is actually very minimalist with a zero drop heel and no arch support so unless you are into minimalist shoes (or looking to get into them) these aren't the shoe for you.

merrell barefoot shoe

Recieved in a timely manner. Shoe was as described. They are used as a casual shoe, as I wanted something light and washable. They do appear to have the appearance of a track shoe with their low profile and the toe turns upward. Overall appearance is good, comfortable to walk in, not a large amount of padding but isn't that the idea? Traction is outstanding. They appear true to size. You could get away with one half size smaller if you wanted a snug fit. Overall pleased with purchase.
