Product Description

Inov-8 Mudclaw 300 Fell Running Shoe is an extremely aggressively outsoled fell, hill, mountain and orienteering shoe. Its durable synthetic upper has dual layer mesh for comfort and protection. The EVA is designed for adding comfort and extra cushioning. While the Synthetic upper acts as a lightweight and soft support, which gives durability and comfort. The Endurance Rubber Compound has been formulated for an optimal balance on a variety of different terrains for maximization of grip. The Webbing Upper Support Lacing is attached to nylon webbing, which cradles and secures just behind the metatarsal heads for additional support.

Agressive Grip. Comfortable Fit, Perfect Trail Shoe... But.

This is a great Trail Shoe. I run off road trail races, Mud Races, Spartan Races etc. These shoes see it all, from Mud, to rocks, to Hills, and Slippery Trails. They perform great in all of these conditions. I have better traction with these then almost anyone else on the trail. Running at Full Speed down a muddy, slippery hill, when everyone else is reduced to a slow walk is great. The only issue that I have is that when fully submerged in water, They do not drain very well due to all the side protection. I would like some outlets for the water, and this would be a 5 star shoe. The MudClaw 265's look like they will drain better, but are a 3mm drop, instead of the 6mm drop on this shoe. I like the 6mm drop though. My next purchase may be the 265's though to see if the 3mm makes a difference to me or not, but with better drainage.They run a bit on the larger size for me, so I did not go up the usual 1/2 size on running shoes with this one.Recommendation: I always wash in the washing machine after each race,and hang dry. They look brand new still.

I love this shoe!

I tried to break in these shoes by running 10 miler race.Did very well on the up hills and down hills without knee pain or blisters.Very durable.

I bought this shoe based on reviews here on Amazon and others on running sites but this shoe is not as cushioned as the Nike Air Max which I was replacing so will not purchase again.

Seems Good So Far

Like the tri-tone black/grey/white color scheme so I thought I'd give them a try. Tried them on in-store before ordering online and it's a good thing that I did, because they definitely run a half-size small. I'm usually an 11 & 1/2 but I needed to get a 12. Got lucky on this one.

I thought I had found my new running shoe. I liked everything about them until the "clouds" started coming apart after about 100 miles of use. Now all of the front row on both shoes are broken.

a little goofy looking , but they fit great, easy not having laces. very comfortable. I use them for walking & hiking (light trails) with my dogs. they seem very sturdy.

Only plus on this one is the lack of drain holes in the sole, therefore no issues with running on trails where the Iso Transitions might often pick up small pebbles/gravel and cause problems. Note on the fit: I am normally a size 9.5 but use 10.5 for Pearl Izumis. Half of the extra size is purely to account for long-distance running (half marathon and up) where I've had occasional issues with my toes late in the run. Otherwise, a half-size over might be OK.

Like walking on on plush paded carpet in your bare feet

First I need to tell you I am not a runner, actually I can not run any longer. I am disabled becuase a neuro surgeon cliped my sciatic nerve during back surgery. The shoes are the BEST thing that have happened to come my way in years. B-4 I got these a trip to the grocery store meant stabbing, burning pain about 20 mins. into the trip. Now I can go where I want for up to an *hour (no pain) or longer (very little pain) without that worry. Thank you Asics for this incredible technology and amazing cushioning. I have 5 Homedics products to relieve back pain, I have to take morphine every day, I have to get back injections every 3 months and use an ice bag upto 3 times a day. Until I got these Asics Gel Kinectic 3, I dreaded even a trip to the mail box. I tried other Asics aftter giving up on Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Reebok,Saucony and other brands. First I tried Gel Kayana's (Asics) and then Gel Nimbus 13 and then I finally found these GEMS Gel Kinectic 3's they are the bomb. The cushioning, IGS and construction help me so much I can't put it into words. I actually look forward to going out again after 15 years of it being to painful on my back and feet. If you have lower back problems and walking is unbearable, I give my highest recommendation that you try a pair of these. They are so important to me that I have a Brand NEW pair in a box waiting to save me pain when the pair I am using wear out.

Great Great Shoe worth every penny!

First of all i am not a runner at all but ive noticed through the years that running shoes tend to give me better support and cushioning for what i do everyday (carry heavy loads up and down stairs in and out of trucks and up and down ramps 8 hours a day) at first these shows were stiff as crap! but after a few shifts they really treated my feet like kings. Its truly like walking on air and my feet dont hurt at end of day which is really great. my last pair was Asics Mens Gel Phoenix 2's and it was because of that pair that really got me hooked on Asics. even though i cant comment on the running side of these shoes overall they are a great ride and are worth every penny

Kinetic is good but the Numbus won

I purchased both the Kinetic and the Nimbus but being a Neutral runner rather than the over under pronate runner. I would have to say the Nimbus won by far. It was soft, supportive and had the right soles to handle the continuos strike of the road. Don't take me wrong. The Kinetic is an awesome shoes but it wasn't made for my type of feet or running. Try them both and you"ll win either way.

Incredible Stability Shoe!

A life-long Nike supporter, I decided to get fitted for a running shoe since I am preparing for the Houston Marathon. I knew that I had flat, narrow feet, but I didn't know that I had a problem with pronation until the salesman watched my running stride. Telling him that my previous shoe was a Nike Vomero 6, I half-expected him to bring out the Vomero 7s. Was I stunned when he fitted me with Mizuno Wave Inspire 8.The moment I put on these stability shoes I knew I was wearing something special. When I ran with them in the store, my ankles didn't turn, and, in a way, it made my feet feel wider. The one comment the salesman made was that the Wave Inspire takes a little bit longer to adjust to a runner's feet, but after running with them a couple of shorter runs of four and five miles, these shoes paid huge dividends on the long run of 13 miles.What I experienced on that long run was close to divine. I recognized that the Wave 8's designers understood the needs of long distance runners for the simple fact that the shoes prevented much of the energy from the pavement weakening my legs. As a result of the shoe's technology, I can run longer distances at a faster pace without my legs and feet feeling it afterwards.I will continue using my Nike Vomeros for my gym workouts, but if you're a long distance runner (or at least trying to be as I am), then I definitely recommend being fitted for a running shoe at your local shoe store. You may be surprised. In my case, I found a wonderful stability shoe in the Mizuno Wave Inspire 8!

My Wandering Days are Over

When it came time to replace my worn-out Wave Inspire 7's, I got curious about another company that had my "Adrenaline" all pumped up by their fancy technology for absorbing shock. I thought they'd provide better cushioning, but in the middle of a half marathon when knee pain kicked in, I wasn't "running happy", and finally admitted what the blisters and dead cat bounce cushioning had been telling me all along: it was time to try the Wave Inspire 8's. Wow! and Awesome! are understatements. This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn for my size 13, somewhat narrow and mildly overpronating feet. Mizuno got everything dialed in perfectly on this model. I'm battling the urge to stockpile a bunch so I can have a great shoe to run in for the next ten years. The 8's have a slightly reduced upper around the ankle (nice, because the 7's initially rubbed my ankle bone), a slightly more roomy toe box, and better forefoot cushoining than the 7's. I did a 20 mile run last week, had no pain anywhere, and the blisters are gone. The guy at the running store told me once people run in Mizuno's, they don't go back to other brands. I certainly learned my lesson! Couldn't recommend them more.

6 to 8, don't bother with the 7

I had the wave inspire 6 and they were a great running shoe. I was excited for the wave inspire 7, but was disappointed very quickly once I put them on to go running. They were not the most comfortable, especially around the ankle. In fact, I bought another pair of 6s because I didn't like the 7s. When it came to the wave inspire 8 I was weary because of my dissatisfaction with the 7s, but because of how good my wave inspire 6s were, I decided to give them a shot. The 8s are better than the 6s, and much better than the 7s. I am very satisfied with the wave inspire 8. It is very comportable, and a solid running shoe. When the pair I have are worn down, I will not hesitate to buy another pair. Great shoe!
