Great shoe but short life span!

Bought these shoes because I have been wearing Mizuno successfully for many years. I love the feel of these shoes and feel as though they put some energy in my stride. I am an over-pronator and like the support the shoes provide. My only complaint is they seem to wear rapidly. The rubber sole is actually quite thin and I quickly exposed the thin plastic wafer underneath. After about 200 miles, I had to replace because of how much sole was missing. I started to feel my risk increase of potentially rolling my ankle. I run about 40 miles a week so they did not last long enough to justify a $200 price tag.

A perfect shoe

I run about 4-6 miles on a daily basis. I have alternated between the Mizuno Wave and the Asics Gel Kayano. Due to early inner sock heel wear on the Asics, I have found the Mizuno is my shoe of choice. I recently decided to try this shoe and it is one of the most comfortable running shoes I have ever had. The shoe has no abnormal inner sock wear when I run and fits well. It is expensive but I have no regrets.

For runners prone to injuries

Had 3-4 incidence of severe achilles tendonitis in the past so I'm constantly looking for shoes with maximum cushioning and stability. I know that these shoes serve the heel-striker well, but being a mid-foot striker I figured the full length wave plate will also accomodate the mid-foot striker. I own several running shoes including Nike, Saucony, Asics, Brooks, among others but the Mizuno Wave Prophecy provided something the others could not- almost complete prevention of foot/ankle pain and discomfort. My other running shoes are great but usually after the 8th or 9th mile, I start to feel the pain/discomfort from the constant pounding and usually slows down after that. However with the Mizuno WP, after the 9th mile, I actually did not feel any foot/ankle pain or discomfort. In fact, I increased my speed and beat my personal record by 10 mins (12-mile run). I'm definitely looking forward to run on these during the actual marathon run.

Nice road shoe but ...

Light enough, nice fit, well cushioned pair of road shoes. Laces do not come loose during runs.However, during runs, the shoe doesn't feel special enough to warrant me to buy future pairs. I think it feels like a lighter Asics Nimbus.I could think this is great for triathlons but then again, this shoe doesn't come with the holes to drain off water so it's not really meant for triathlons.I've since bought On Running's CloudSurfer and I loved those! (may write a review about it)

Great shoes

I have been using asics for years and I am very happy with the performance of these shoes.I decided to try this pair of shoes for long distance running and I LOVE THEM.They fit great, they are light and i didnt have to wear them more than 1 minute to get use to them.Overall, they do a perfect job and i am thinking in buying a second zoot pair.By they way, they do not only feel great... They look great!

Great trail shoe

I wore this shoe walking the last 211 km of the Camino this summer, and while traveling in some cities in Spain, and on a few of the hiking trails in Yosemite. I've put it through a lot, and experienced it on multiple surfaces. It definitely performs best on trails as it's designed. The sole has a great traction that will keep you on your feet anywhere. This is uncomfortable on roads, so I wouldn't recommend this shoe unless you intend on using it on trail surfaces (loose gravel, dirt, rocks, sand, etc.) as it is intended to be used.Be careful with the fit because their US size might be different from other shoe companies. If you aren't sure what size you need look at the UK size on a pair of gym shoes that fit you and then get this shoe in that same UK size and it will fit you well.Besides that it's a lightweight shoe and is comfortable. I'm not sure if I would recommend it for the Camino because a good part of that is on road surfaces (although less than half), but I don't regret using it for the Camino either as I didn't have any blister or foot / leg issues.

Awesome

My favorite running shoe, for offload and road alike. I have been running for 20 years and these are one of my all time favorites. Great if you want a super light weight shoe that is on the border of being a minimalist but not quite. Definitely recommend!

Comfortable and well-made

My son put these on the day they arrived and said they were comfortable immediately, no breaking in time. Also, when something is acceptable to a 14 year old, you can assume the they look good. To me they were a great buy and the breathable water-repellant fabric attracted me--refer back to the 14 year old walk-through-anything part.....

About as water proof as flip flops

This shoe is advertised as water proof? You gotta be kidding me? Its the only reason I purchased it and if I wore flip flops while running my feet would be dryer! Also if you are looking for a good amount of shock absorption this isn't the shoe you want.Any how I never understand why they advertise a product that isn't at all what its listed as?

Designed with an 8mm offset to allow an easier transition for less impact. This is the big new story for the Triumph 9, making you land more in the midfoot area. Designed with a 8mm heel-to-toe offset that maximizes muscle power by allowing for a more efficient stride. The Triumph 9 is Saucony's top-of-the-range cushioning shoe, with ProGrid Cushioning that gives the best impact absorption. More technology has been put into the Triumph so that it provides great protection and feels like a luxury running shoe should.

Powergrid 9

I have run in Saucony shoes for years, starting with the triumph 3 shoes all the way up to the triumph 7. Unfortunately the triumph 7 introduced a new, slightly porky mid sole connecting the forefoot and heel with a relatively stiff chunk of rubber. I tried a pair, but returned them after a few short, but painful heel-striking runs. I stocked up on Triumph 6's, ordering as many as I could, hoping to weather the storm until the next shoe. Unfortunately I run a fair bit so shoes only last a few months before they reach the 400 mile retirement point. With the triumph 8, things were improved, but not perfect, the shoe still felt like it had a slightly heavy awkward heel. Nearly out of triumph 6 shoes, I found myself shopping for other neutral + shoes. After trying nearly every brand, I found some good, workable shoes but nothing that rode or fit as well as the triumph 6 shoes.As soon as I saw the triumph 9 show up as available online I eagerly purchased a pair; the specs are impressive, nearly an ounce lighter than the triumph 8's, with new features such as 8mm offsets and an ibr+ rubber compounds.The smell of new shoes wafting out of the familiar red and brown box I pulled the new triumph 9's out. They look like an entirely new shoe. Gone is the characteristic Progrid "window" on the bottom; instead in its place is a simplistic Powergrid logo. Most importantly the awkward mid sole material that was added in the triumph 7 and 8 has been dramatically changed. First impression on fit is that the toe box is pretty big (actually just average compared to other brands). Gone are the round laces, instead the triumph 9 has flat laces. Shoe flexibility is good - much better than previous triumphs. Overall the shoe feels light, and somewhat minimalistic. Fabric padding in the heel is much less prominent than in previous triumphs, but seems to be strategically placed.After the first 15-mile run I was reminded why I like the triumph line of shoes so much, they provide an excellent, balanced, and plush ride that has great upper shoe support. The triumph 9 has the traditional arch lock / support that is characteristic of the triumph line. Gone is the heavy hoofed heel of previous triumphs; in its place is a plush, balanced, cloud like ride. Given the new lighter weight materials it will be interesting to see how they hold up as the miles add up.Update: After about 2 weeks running in these (about 150 miles) it is apparent that after some longer 20+ mile runs they are not for me. I have unfortunately started to feel it in my knees. I had to stop running in these shoes. These do still feel ok on shorter runs, they just don't work for me for the long distances.

The same but different...

I've been wearing the Saucony Triumph running shoes since I bought my first pair of Triumph 4's. This version has the same roomy toe box and large ankle opening that I like from the previous models with the advantage of a less pronounced heel to toe drop. At over 220 lbs. I was afraid I'd miss the extra cushioning in the heel, but my ongoing efforts to land more mid-foot instead of on my heel have been rewarded with this shoe. Less rubber between the heel and the ground has promoted a better stride for me since the thickest part of the sole isn't hitting the ground as quickly as it did in the previous versions of this shoe.Very well ventilated and easy to unlace after a run.

Best Running Shoe I've owned

Best running shoe I have owned. I started with the Triumph 6 and loved them, moved on to Triumph 7 when they came out and hated them (very uncomfortable). With my experience with the 7, I was hesitant to go back to Triumph, and skipped the 8, but others' reviews on the 9 convinced me to give them a try: This shoe combines great cushioning with great stability (though it is not a stability shoe). I highly recommend.
