Welcome Back Gel-Nimbus

My last Asics were Gel Nimbus 11s, they changed too much with 12 so I jumped to Nike Vomeros. I read a lot about Nimbus 15s and getting back to comfort so I ordered a pair.I am pleased to find the familiar, spacious toe box, wider than my Vomeros, There is also a lot more shoe between my Asics and the ground, compared to my Nikes. The Nimbus are most cushy on a heel strike, but my mid-foot landing is still quite nice, I just completed a 10K in them and they performed very well.

The price is not ok!!

I have bought this shoes in Oct.25th and the price is $126, but only 4 days later the price is only $104! I`m so sad about it.

Awesome shoes!

The fit is good and the ground feel is great. You can remove the inner sole to further increase the ground feel if desired which I recommend. I bought this shoe for basketball and while it did take time before I was able to play basketball in barefoot shoes the effort was worth it. No more sprained ankles. No more Achilles pain. No more plantar fasciitis. And to top it all off all aspects of game performance are increased or unaffected. I will stress that the transition should be slow, especially if you wear traditional shoes on and off the court. Durability is on par with other basketball shoes which has pleasantly surprised me.

Underestimated Shoe

I purchased this shoe after I worn out my boat shoes real well and needed a flat shoe like this for gym and also casual wear .I think the price will turn people off but beyond that its a really solid well built shoe(thanks to clarks hand in it). Puncture resistant sole keeps rocks and other uneven surface from hurting your feet.I will definitely recommend this shoe

Great shoes, far too big.

I have a pair of these from before, and ordered an extra pair, same size. They turned out to be about two sizes too big, despite the label. Unfortunately I had them sent to my hotel while staying in the U.S. and flew out the next day, so I am stuck with these giants. Checked the sizing and they were marked according to the size I ordered. Beware!Apart from this, I love the pair that fits!

Great shoe.

nice pair of shoe. Great cushioning, and get it at a gd pricing.Reason for 4stars is size is slightly small. Normally wear US 11, but seems to be small for what i get in size 11 for this shoe. Shd get 1/2 a size more than the yr usual shoe size.

Very comfortable shoe

Like a previous version of this shoe I bought, there were some minor pressure points in the insert but seemed to disappear after wearing a couple of times. Shoe tends to run a 1/2 size small so order next 1/2 size up for a good fit.

Minimalist Trail Running at its Finest

First of all, let me say the Spyridons are amazing. I first tried the LS model at a local REI, but realized that the upper was a bit too tight for my foot (which is ironic, because my understanding is the LS model is supposed to accomodate a larger, wider foot). After that failed attempt, I did a bit of online research on the standard, KSO-similar model. Having two pairs of KSOs, I realized that this might be the ideal fit for me, so I orderered and received the shoe.Out of the box, I tested them on a nearby local, rocky field-trail. Let me say, the ground feel was definitely still there, but the painful jabbing and stone-bruising caused by upward-facing, sharp rocks disappeared. I will say, however, that they aren't a miracle shoe. With heightened ground feel, you are bound to still feel the occasional "poke" from a rock (mainly in the toe and heel locations, from my experience) but the trade off is this:You get an amazing trail shoe, one that retains the barefoot-like feel while protecting your foot, giving you both reliable tread and protection needed for the most aggressive outdoor trails.Take my advice, and enjoy!

Beyond my expectations

I will start off emphasizing the point that you REALLY should try a pair of FiveFingers on before ordering. I tracked a store down and tried on a pair thinking I would be a size 43 which is what the online sizing chart told me I should be upon measuring my foot. Though my measuring skills could have been the issue, it turns out I am a size 45.Now that I have them, I am very satisfied with the feel and protection they provide. It takes me a bit longer to put these on than a regular shoe, but taking them off is a breeze with the Velcro strap. I have been playing basketball and running around town putting about 15 miles on them, so I felt it was a good time to review. I see no wear besides traces of dirt. I am looking forward to hitting some trails soon as well and have no worries about the protection of my feet. These seem to be the most "rugged" which is what led me to this model. That was my only concern switching to this type of footwear, and now that concern has been obliterated. I will be buying more in the future.

Best Running Shoes on The Planet

I use these for running on trails. The trails I run on are very rocky, however, when running with these shoes, I can get the barefoot feel without the pain. Spyridon are the best shoes for running on rocky trails. Highly recommended.

Inov-8 Roclite 315 Trail Shoes are the most durable shoe in the range providing superb cushioning and comfort for ultra trail racing and everyday training. Deep cleated sole ensures grip in muddy conditions. This is an Off-Road multi activity shoe providing high levels of comfort, upper support and grip. The medium profile, cushioned midsole provides excellent under foot comfort while the fascia band aids propulsion. The 3 Arrow Shoc-Zone provides sufficient cushioning and excellent comfort for ultra distance trail racing and normal everyday tough terrain training. While its synthetic overlays and webbing upper design create a perfect foothold when you're tackling the trail.

Great shoe for running in the woods

This is an excellent shoe. It has good flexibility in the forefoot which is recommended for good running form. I have run in the woods in muddy as well as rocky ground (up in the forests by West Point Academy, New York). The traction was excellent and I had no slippage problems. These shoes are lighter than my same size Mizuno Wave Rider 15's and they also have less drop. The Roclite 315 have a 9mm drop and the Mizuno Wave Rider has a 12 mm drop. So in transitioning between the two shoes you should not notice the difference. The Roclite 295 shoe has a smaller drop of 6mm. There is lots of room in the toe box of the shoe and you can easily move your toes and spread them out. I have had no heel slippage problems.My only warning is that these shoes are designed for a transition to forefoot landing. These are a 3 arrow shoe so they are a good transition from your cushy running shoes (like the Mizuno) to a minimalist shoe. You should slowly up the mileage in these and don't start with a 10 mile run in these!Sizing: I used the sizing charts on the Innov-8 website (which are the same as the amazon site) [...] The shoes feel slightly large, but I decided that they were good to use. I like buying shoes at a store and always try on the size above and below, but this is not practical with on line orders. To measure your foot size I used the evening (you should have the largest foot size because of swelling) and stood on a paper on the floor and marked out my foot. My sizes were 28.3 & 28.6 cm which converted to a US 11.5 size. This is the same size that I use for my Mizuno Wave Rider 15 running shoes which is also an 11.5 US size. (Again the sizing chart for these shoes is 28.5cm = 11.2in) This size for both sets of shoes gives a thumbs spacing between my big toe and and the end of the shoe.

Inov8s are the best thing to happen to OCR (Obstacle Course Racing)

I am a member of the Corn Fed Spartans Race Team (www.cornfedspartans.com) and LegendBorne OCR (race apparel). This is my first pair of Inov8s and they performed above the mark! The fit, the style, the tread design all contributed to a great race last week (Savage Race, Ohio www.savagerace.com). Most of my team wears Inov8 trail shoes and thats what prompted me to try them. Great shoes for my sport!

Great Training Shoes...

I have come to expect Inov-8's shoes to be on the cutting edge of everything that I am currently looking for. The 315's are a comfortable training shoe that has significant stability in the trails. The only real trade off... is its overall weight. But I must say, it is well worth it.
