The shape and thickness of the soles of these shoes is very well balanced; Not too wide, not too thick like some running shoes. However, if you have high arches, YOU WILL NOT LIKE THESE SHOES. I have arches of medium height and these shoes were very tight over the top of my feet. I could feel the circulation in my foot was being hindered.
